I told you, I’m super into making macarons lately. These I made a month or so ago. I took the basic recipe from Laduree that was posted by Not So Humble Pie but I scaled it back because that is way too many macarons… way too many.
I added the zest of a Meyer lemon to the dry ingredients and I think I added a touch of lemon extract to the meringue.. I don’t remember. Immediately after piping, I sprinkled some poppy seeds over the top because why not and I filled these with lemon buttercream and a dollop of Meyer Lemon Curd, recipe courtesy of Food In Jars. It wasn’t my intention to make more macarons.. what I really wanted to do was make the lemon curd because I had too many egg yolks … but … well.. look what happened.
